My Redditch game is my first full season as a manager in FM2005. I staterted another game but it was too slow on my PC.
So back to my Redditch story, I chose them as they were the club nearest to me that were in the Conference north/South. Anyway preseason was a bit up and down playing nine games winning 3, drawing 3, loosing 3. I didnt win my first game until I played the league leaders at the time away at Alfreton, 4-3 in my 10th game in charge. I bounced along in the league reaching the dizzy hights of 15th place at one point!!! I lost away to Hendon 2-3 in the 2nd Rouind of FA Qualifying. I stayed in or near for relegation for the rest of the season. I won the first round of the FA Trophy 3-0 at home to Lincon Utd, then lost the replay to Osset Town 2-0 away. I won in total 11 league games in the season, drawing 10 and loosing 21 games. I was on tender hooks going into the final game having only won 1 of my previous 12 games knowing, to be really sure, I needed 45 points at least to avoid relegation, even with victory in the final game of the season and a draw for Hucknal would see Redditch relegated as my gaol difference was -27 compared to Hucknalls -22 at the start of the final game.
