I think you need eleven non-greyed-out players to be able to play reserve matches.

If you're playing FM though, you should already be in one of the 'Reserve Groups', so you should have regular fixtures already.

i was weymouth mate but i just though weymouth didn't have a reserve team full stop
due to the size of club they are or because there in the South conference league but looking at it now it seems you reserves starting playing once youre in the Conference

Thats correct - no reserve or U18 leagues for teams in Conf North/South.

Reserves can FOAD for all i care, the first team is worrying me much more at the moment.

It seems you can't set up friendlies for your reserves or U18s in the Conference N/S.

I move them up into the first team, set up a friendly with them (usually against my reserves) - basically a training match and play my reserves/fringe/triallists, then switch them back to their proper squads afterwards. Irritating but do-able.

i believe it will be fixed with the forthcoming patch.

The Conference N/S teams usually field seconds and youth teams in county leagues and these can't be accounted for in the game.
Well, not unless the LL rung lowes itself to the Southern League, Doc Martyns and Unibond Leagues

Hmmmm... and my reserves are always in the "severely lacking match practice" mode.

Although I understand that it isn't possible to replicate leagues even lower than Conference North/South, it is also equally unrealistic IRL that players wouldn't be getting any match practice. I would have liked to have seen SI put in to the coding some setting that gives these players "match practice" in the background even if we cannot see such leagues, results etc
