How are you guys finding the media in FM?

I've been pleasantly surprised. I'm about 9 or 10 games in to my season and have had a local reporter ask me a couple of pertinent questions, one about the loss to a groin inury of my best (16 yo, U-21 international) defender, and one a few weeks later asking who I blame for the fact we're conceding an average of 3 and a bit goals a game.

A nice improvement IMHO.

I've had one question so far, after 2½ seasons. A reporter asking whether I believed we could stay away from relegation or not. This was after our promotion to the Swedish div1.

i have to say that, in the demo at least, i was the most popular manager in the division according to the media reports from other managers..... where's the sarcasm option when you need it?

My reputation is media friendly manager at the moment. Over my two and a bit seasons ive had a fair bit of banter with other managers some like me some dont.
The press have asked a fair few questions in that time.
Whos to blame for letting in so many goals.
Will you miss your injured player.
Can you get promotion.
A much improved part of the game in my view.

But after two an a bit seasons ive not had one scout send me a video of there player. Has anybody else not been approached by a scout??

I've not been approached by agents, but I guess agents are more inclined to approach Mick Hucknall rather than Hucknall Town's humble surroundings.

I like the media thing, it's seems like a good idea.

Seems a bit odd at first though when as Bishop's Stortford manager you read that you have 'told the assmebled media' something.

one bloke from the herts & essex observer hardly counts as 'assembled' i think!

I accidentally made best friends :bigalp: with the manager of my hated local rivals last night :eek:

I beat them 2-0, then made a comment that perhaps they shouldn't be sad (I'm thinking I'm being a little sarcastic here, it's their own fault one of their MCs was sent off after a half hour).
He thinks I'm being nice and ends up praising me all over the place. I'm not sure our fans will be best pleased, although my DR now thinks we're invincible just because I'm the manager :cool: Unfortunately his own mortality was confirmed to him days later when he sustained a career-threatening injury (he's 36 and will be out 8 months) :eek:

Had a video sent to me while I was flying high in the german second division but had nothing when I've been in the bottom leagues.

Reality is if you've got an agent working for you, and one who takeing video your likely to be top-end fodder not LL make-weight.

Also had the press tell me my praise was worth nothing as i did it all the time ........we were in a 9 game winning streak and whats a manager to do when half your team is getting 8+ every game after that our next 7 were 4 losses and 3 draws
