I had the exact same situation, asktlk. Upper mid table in my first season as stortford and i had 3 league 2 clubs offer me a job.
I didn't take it as it didn't seem right after 3/4 of a season. Maybe if i'd been going 3 or 4 years and i'd built up some kind of manageerial reputation..
Then again, any RL manager would accept the job, so maybe it's unrealistic not to take the job! |

I hardly ever accept a new job offer in game. IRL, I would jump at the chance of a higher league and more money.

That just depends on how attached you become to the team... The longer you're with those players, the more that team becomes yours amd the harder it is to leave.

I just think of myself as a Steve Bruce type of manager. Join a club and then see if anyone else will offer me a job.
Offer undying loyalty to Huddersfield say, before signing on with another club the next day. Announcing that you are never going to leave Crystal Place just before signing with Birmingham.
Managers loyalty stats -99.

/me would leave any club, at any time, should I get the call from Delia.
Otherwise, it has to be a realistic sort of career move, to a club I have relatively positive feelings about (not going to be managing Ipswich any time soon ). A chance with a fallen "big club" or a chance to move up a division in the way that good RL LLMs do, but I don't like screwing over the club I'm leaving a la Church's example.

After consideration, i took the cambridge job. It was hard to leave the home town club and that of which i supported (sounds like Shrek) i went for the status and ability i believed i deserved (actually, i didnt deserve it, but its always nice to be asked!)
Season started well, with a target of only staying up (made easier by the fact that there is only 2 relegation places in league 2!), and got them (cambridge)to a high of 8th in the league, just 3 points off playoffs.
However, a weak squad, no funds and no decent freebies/loans meant a steady decline in form. However, the bored and seemed "delighted" with a final finsh of 12th.
How is everyone else goin in the Lower Leagues?
