Default question

ive never done a proper LLM game but im planning on soon once ive done my exams at uni. i was reading over the guidlines but was wondering about thid

quote:
Best to start off using a default tactic and altering formations or giving individual or team instructions to players based on the strengths or weaknesses of your squad, and NOT to use other people’s tactics or formations. The idea of LLM is finding out the errors of your ways though trial and error. Pinching other people’s ideas is not the way of the LLaMa.

is it against the ethiscs if i use a tactic i made earlier for example im playing a daft game with my favorite clubs sunderland im useing a tactic i made would this be frowned upon?

It all depends if a formation that works well with the Mackems works well with doen the leagues where men are men, and skill is...boasting.

Right, I think I know where you're coming from, fella.

The rule of thumb is you start every LLM game using a clean slate, and alter your tactics, formations, &c. according to your players.

Using an old tactic on FM2005 probably won't work the same as it did in 03/04, but as long as it isn't "Diablo" or some other acknowledged "super-tactic" you're not going to be tarred and feathered by any but the guys who look to pillory new guys.

Good luck with the exams, btw.

You'll probably find that what works for Sunderland will befuddle most Conference Regional players.

What Nobby said.

One of the great things about the detailed player instructions is that you do have to tailor the tactics to your available resources a bit more.

Well, unless I really don't have the players for it, I always like my team to play the same basic shape and style, so I carry my tactics over from one game to the next. However, I will adjust it to suit the team that I am managing.
