I never played a "managment" game before but as an avid player/fan of soccer over here in the colonies my friends in the UK suggested that I try this game. I've had it now since last Tuesday and already I have 4days 23hours and 33min. of ingame time...
I've loaded the MLS, England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland, Portugal and Spain and I'm missing the "crawl" I see people describing but I hope they are enjoying it as much as me...
Anyway I'm not sure if you all consider the MLS a "Lower League" I have noticed that my players skill wise are about as good as the Div 1 England players though I seem to be in a better financial situation than some of the Div 1 teams.
Since I live in Northern California I'm obviously the San Jose Earthquakes Manager. I wanted to see how long it would take for me to get offers to some of the bigger league teams.
And I can say after winning the MLS 2 seasons in a row as well as the North American Cup and the US Open Cup (runners up in the World Club Cup...was spanked 5-0 by Milan) that I've only been offered the job at MKDons.
Now before the joking begins I agree there is a bit of irony about an American getting asked to manage the only England "franchise" team. As I've said before my friends I spoke of in england already spent much the e-mail giving me a hard time about it.
But to the point...what exactly do I have to win to get offered better jobs in other markets..the US seems to be the ******* children of soccer...(and yes I know we pretty much are)
"Choosing the Team’s easy enough. Look for any Nation with more than one Division. Look at the Clubs in the Lowest Division. Choose one of these Clubs."
So I guess the MLS prolly dosen't count.. :-(
I still like the game...I'll have to bid for a job of an England Conferance team...
First, in order to fit in here, Yankee, you've got to learn to ditch the term "soccer" and call the game "football" or preferably "fitba' ", the Scottish term
Normally certain of the single-division Nations are allowed in here, Wales, Oz, for instance, but because of the incredible amount of money flying about in the US of A the MLS is usually frowned upon...even by our North American LLaMa Brethern.
As for how to get another, more lucrative job...that seldom comes up in here as we tend to take what we get, in a sort of pseudo-realistic way.
Take the MK Dons...if you still can, or apply for a Lower League English Club, pull up a chair, ditch real life, and welcome to LLM

Nonsense. Don't let the kilt wearing mod intimidate you. Call it what you like and if they question it, remind them who coined the term.
