Okay, walked out of Uni with a good 2:1 in Politics and post my CV on an internet jobs site, suddenly, 9 years get added to my life and I am unveiled as the manager of Havant and Waterlooville.
The Hawks squad is sizeable, with a few solid players and some aged Football League veterans. I am also faced with larger than budget wage bill, and the youngsters are disappointing, guess Pompey got all the local youth. Looks like I’m going to have to rebuild from the ground up, let some of the higher paid players contracts expire and invest in a new scouting team and some coaches who can work with and improve the youngsters with the aim of building a squad capable of exciting the fans, gaining some promotions and cup runs and hopefully develop a income stream by selling on my cleaned diamonds.
04/05
A few weeks into the season and my new scouts have unearthed some promising youngsters who I have signed on short contracts, and a couple of strong powerful defenders who are achieving good ratings. I have signed a very famous ex-superstar as my Assistant. He was far and away the best applicant, and had a good working with youngsters attribute. The added bonus was he actually accepted the pittance I offered him, and was still in good enough shape to be the best player at the club. October arrived and we found ourselves an encouraging 7th.
And then …. We stagnated. The leading goal scorers in the league, we drew too many games and conceded too many late goals for my liking (and this is with my defenders and midfield playing well) 12th at Christmas and 10th in February and losing ground on the play-offs. I am feeling annoyed that the Conference National sides keep sniffing around by young fullbacks and offering to take them on loan, despite the fact that the already playing every week for me….If only they offered me some money for one of them, oh the fun of a few thou to spend. It’s those dreams that keep LLM fun.
A transfer deadline day crisis, my two (on paper at least) players left the club, one to become manager of Macclesfield, and the Ass Man goes off to Gateshead. Luckily I had scouted two possible replacements and had them sitting on my shortlist hoping their contracts would not be renewed. I took them in on loan and advertised for a new Ass Man, Who arrived in the form of another English legend.
Finished the season on a losing streak and finished a disappointing 14th on 55 points. Luckily the board was delighted by my performance.

Sorry, I am typing it up in Word, and then cutting and pasting at the end of each season (I am busy and sometimes a season can take a week to play, so i need to remember what happens) And this way I can please the spelling Nazis. I'll be careful to be Aryan with my grammer and spacing as well in the future.
RIP
This Havant and Waterlooville save died 21:30 8th February 2005.
4th in the league on an unbeaten run. The game crashed out. No matter what i did (saved, resaved, went on holiday, quit (i know, i know i was desperate)). I'll keep it on the HDD just in case it can be resurrected either on my other PC (which i've not installed FM on) or with that darn patch which is due
