My ass-man was approached by a lower ranking club. I was pleased with his performance and he seemed happy enough 2 years into a 4-yr contract (€12,500/month) so in an attempt to hang on to him I tried offering a new deal. He wanted €90K/month, 3 times my salary! I offered to double his current deal: 4 years at €25K/m.
He REFUSES, claiming the deal is financially unacceptable! Apparently he prefers a 4-yr coach job at the lower raking club at the less-than-impressive tune of €11,250/m.
Who would accept a deal like that?

Hardly.

Errr, well, I cannot actually claim residency as it's just a homage to Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
But, yeah, I would really like to see SI infuse some more artificial intelligence into the FM universe, as the above-mentioned example clearly demonstrates a deficiency.

Staff contracts are an issue that really needs looking into.
Far too often staff will as you describe take lower paid jobs & I've never seen one of my backroom staff turn down an offer from another club yet when I'm looking to fill a particular vacancy I definately don't have a 100% success rate.
