i was playing as sevilla, did well and was getting 40,000,000 a season in TV rights or some such. I then move to arsenal who have previously won the premiership about 4 or 5 times in a row to find that they only get 30,000,000 a season. Is there a reason for this? i imagined they would be getting alot more.
i dont know about spain, but in the premiership tv money is not based on how well you do. Every club gets the same amount of money.
It is the league that gets the money and shares it out between the clubs.
In Italy the clubs negotiate their own tv money. So te likes of AC and Inter get more than the others. I think up to £80 million a season.
But as i say i dont know how it works in spain.
Hope that helps
Each club negotiates their own fee with TV stations in Spain in real life. Madrid negotiated a 300 million euro deal over 5 years quite recently, so I guess it depends on your success etc, if it is the same in FM as real life.
plus in england the prize money at the end of the season is far higher as a percentage of tv money is put aside for end of season prize money, winners get about 17mil in italy its only 1mil.
Just to add to the Spanish line, most of the clubs now trade on the stock market and their financial revenue is obtained through TV deals gate receipts and trading. There is no prize money in La Liga, thus the TV deals and gate receipts need to outstrip wages and buying of players.
you dont mean in Spain, do you? Cos its not true. Spanish clubs cannot be owned in the way English clubs can. Technically they belong to the town and the Town Hall has a stake in its future.
