An alternative explanation...
4-0 up from the first leg and playing at home. Your players have no great urgency, no pressure on them. The other team desperately need to score early to stand any chance, so they come at you and get lucky.
Your players now realise that the job is not quite done and they had better start playing. End result = two goals. Not spectacular, but enough to avoid embarassment and put the tie beyond any doubt. So they relax again and concede in the 85th minute.
At least consider if there is a logical footballing reason, before assuming the game is unrealistic. That way, in future, you might be prepared for those 'unrealistic' moments and prevent them from happening.

How often does it happen to you? Did you watch any fo the game, how many of those were long shots or rebounds?
I do remember years ago when newcastle united were good under keegan. Southampton were are bogey team, in this one game we lost 2-1 and as far as i can remember they only had 2 shots while we had 20/25 (not 100% sure), so it does occasionaly happen. Mind you it was Le Tissier who scored!

As far as I know, happens more often than IRL.
Of course, it may just be selective memory, but it happens enough times to make sure I don't forget.
At least a couple of the shots were misses from 5 yards out, the keeper was VERY agile.
I gave them a sense of urgency to prod them on. I didn't say, like, they are pwned anyway, so just go out and pull out a beach chair and relax. I asked them to win the game...

I understand your problem and it happens to me, more in some game than others which stresses differences in players and tactics. I dont know how much this happens in real life so i cant decide myself whther its a problem.
One thing for sure is that, there are too many chances, too many rebounds, too many long shots, which might have led to some balancing out (i really hope not). After watching some recent games it looks like defenders very often dont judge where the ball or attacking player is going to be, and instead start running to their present point which results in them having to change direction and then play catch up, which in turn leads to too many one on ones. Im not sure about this but also some players seem to be able to run to fast with the ball (i may be wrong with this).

Man United 0 - 2 Coventry
Blackburn 1 - 4 Coventry
Havant and Waterlooville 4 - 2 Swansea
Luton 1 - 1 Liverpool.
Upsets happen.

sorry to be padantic, but york won at old trafford, then lost 3-1 at bootham crescent. our left back wayne hall dribbling around ryan giggs was a highlight. anyhow i'll shut up now...

I'd say the Shelbourne v Deportivo result is far far worse. These results happen every season, three cheers for FM realism.
Anyways if you just won these games easily it would get boring and I wouldn't play it, the ability to draw agaisnt nobodies adds to the addictiveness.
