How do I get the best out of my DMC:s I have both Banega and Hamsik but they dont performe as I would like them to do! They get mostly 6:s and a few 7:s. Are there any settings that are extra important to a DMC?

Ratings are not very important. FM08 tends to give higher ratings to players who contribute directly (goals, assists, saves). DMCs are supposed to be working horses, whose role is not so bright yet very important. Check their after-match stats. Things to look at are - interceptions, passes (both attempted and completed), and tackles. If these stats are low relatively to the other players, it means DMC does not do the job. I tend to drop DM into playmakers list (though don't tick "Use playmaker" box) and my DMCs attempt and complete around 50-60 passes per game. However, when I watch match in 2D, it does not look like other players always look for DM to pass. Rather, DM always offers himself as pass option, so if a player don't see other way to attack, he always can pass to DM. Work great, even though DMCs rarely get higher than 7.

I had this problem too, I got a DM with good passing and creative skills and let him "attempt through balls" often. He usually finishes the game with 2-4 key passes, and that helps his rating. Also, if he has a 6 at half-time, bitch him out ad it will usually end up with a seven, I know it doesn't really matter but I like my players to get recognition and the only way to do that is through the ratings.

I was having the same problem with my tactic. Most players were 7's or 8's but Makoun only rated 6 for me. With a little help from another poster I changed him to Playmaker with a free role and I ticked the box with through balls on often.

Since then he has scored with one or two assists but always gets back and closes down and covers well.
