after struggling along for three seasons with my birmingham side and using loads of tacitcs on these and other forums,i found using the default tactics work fine.
i didnt want to over complicate matters with the sliders so i left them all in the middle and just changed to different formations depending on who i was playing.i sometimes used the counter attack or offside options to try and gain an advantage.
with regards to the player intructions i left them alone thinking if they all think along similar lines they will gell as a team quicker and get a better team understanding ,what do you think
I do this when playing friendlies against evenly matched teams and i works. However, i find that when you change your tactics slightly every so often, it benefits your team and shows in the results.
As for individual tactics, i like to play with winger/forward on the wing and a winger/forward up front with the two players swapping position. I find that it confuses opposition who use a man marking system as a centre back could end up on the wing when marking my centre forward, which benefits the whole team when counter attacking.
