Need some help interpreting an opponent scout report

I'm about to play Everton in CL. My scout says that they like to draw the opposition in before attempting a counter-attack. This is usually means they will play direct passing. Then he goes on to say that they like to play possession football and will look to get the ball down and play it. So now they like to play short passing? I don't understand.

Hi Dirty_ACE,

They are going to play short passing with counter attack ticked.

CA isn't always direct.
