I have tried a lot of tactics in FM2008, i have bulit some myself, i have downloaded some, and i have tweaked a lot of tactics which i have randomly heard of. My conclusion on all of those tests has been that lone-striker formations have been way better than formations with 2 forwards, such as the basic 4-4-2.

Why is this?
Does the AI favor lone strikers?
Am I just to plain stupid to play more than one striker?

Am I the only one who has experienced this or do you think im right?

I will have to argue with you and say that tactics with 2 strikers are just fine . I myself use one - one with 4 flat defenders , a DM , 2 flank midfielders on the central line (with short farrows) , a MC (with short farrow) and 2 strikers up front . With this tactic I played successfully on almost al of the CM and FM series . I personally think that a tactic with 1 sole striker demands one very skillfull and strong striker who is capable of retaining the ball in front so usually when I lack such strikers I dont think it's right to use 1 striker tactic . My thought on this is that this years edition favours attacking football more than ever, and with that said I believe that people tend to (while creating a tac with two strikers) put all the offensive duties on those two while when creating lone striker formation you in most cases put two more attacking midfielders (left right or centre) on very offensive mentallity.....

At least that is what I think.

Maybe this sounded a bit complicated......but I was just trying to say that in FM08 offensive tactics are the way to go
