me and my friend are playing network game i play Liverpool he plays Man Utd right now we are starting our 4th season in past 3 seasons we have played against each other over 10 times i have only won 1 game out of all those

our teams quality are pretty equal we have won about same amount of trophies but every time we meet each other my team just can't beat his team

here is our starting 11 pretty much look like

i've tried so many tactics both my own and downloads but nothing works i almost feel like my team just not meant to beat his team

can anyone please give me some advice what should i do

try a new perspective... play narrow and tight and press his players...

tactics need a lot of time to settle ...
may also be your tactics once the game has begun... you may need to adjust to his game... press more, see where they continually attack from and make sure your tighter down that wing etc

Oviously I don't know what tactics you are using, but assuming you were both using the same tactics, I can see why your friend always wins. He appears to have 2 excellent wingers (attacking midfielders are the strongest in FM08) whereas you only appear to have strong left sided attacking midfielders. Who do you play on the right?

Also, you do have excellent young defenders but what year are you on in the game? If you are playing after 2010 I would imagine you'd have a better chance of winning when your younger defenders improve.

i often play Gerrard on the right side (as a liverpool fan i always try to find place for him to play) however i have Menez and Quaresma that could play there my tactic usually attack through the middle AMC(M.Fernandez) often score and got a lot of assists now that u mention about wingers i just realized that everytime i play against him my AMC which should be my main attack don't do so well but both my wingers doing just fine i could be that he mark down my AMC and let my wingers run because he know my main attack would only come from middle area not from the side next time i will try to play more on both flank

now on defending part i seem to have more problem with this than attacking part i just lost to him in Community Shield at beginning of our 4th season so yeah we are still in 2010 all my defenders are very young all of them are 23 and under however they are all playing close to full potential(if anyone still developing i'd never put them to play against my friend's team) my friend often tell me that it doesn't matter how good their stats are they are just too young and not experienced enough to play against his team, could that be it?

to give u better idea of what tactics we using im currently using "The Winning" tactic just start using it this season my friend been using this same tactice for past 2 seasons to make i feel even better i was the one told him to use that tactic because i've seen other ppl success with it on Man Utd i will try to get some image post later but for now his tactic looks like this

What you'll find is that your younger players will develop great technical attributes quite quickly (especially the ones you have), but their mental attributes don't develop very well until they are between 23 and 29 so you've got the advantage of your players development over the coming seasons. His players may have similar technical attributes but I bet their mental attributes are much higher and in FM08, these seem to be more important than ever.

So, take the beatings for the moment and look forward to beating him next season and for a few thereafter.
