Can I ask how you managed to get the WBs to do that without Barrows - unfortunately, only the Barrows got me that desired effect. Agree though, the CBs do a wonderful sweeping job should the worse happen.

I'm not doing anything special but have the FWR's set to Mixed. With my 3-3-2-2 I'm using farrows to push the wingbacks to up to midfield and their mentality is set to either Attacking (15) or Normal (8) depending on if it's a home game or away. They still track back and take up a defensive position next to the 3 DCs without me forcing them to.
Also to WillemII@Tilburg, if you have a fast striker, I found pushing a sarrow to the wing and setting passing focus down what ever side you pushed him, can create good chances and also penalties. Sometimes the striker shoots at an angle and rebounds off the keeper and as long as the other striker of AMCs don't arrive too late they can tap the rebound in. This doesn't always work and depends on the quality of the opposition defenders but worth trying.
