i'm still using Lucio as my centre half and he's 34 now, and Klose is still banging in the goals this year too 19 in 18 starts and he's 34 aswell so i'd say you can still get good use out of them until there in there late 30s, depending on the level of player in the first place
I don't buy over 26 and sell when they are about 30, still good money for them at this stage. I bought owen for 21 million australian dollars at the start, scored a ton of goals and then sold him at 30 for 20million australian dollars. At 31 he was worth 4 million
As long as they play well. I remember in my Arsenal game last year, Gallas, Toure, and Henry played well into their 30's in my first team. I stopped the game when Gallas was 37 or 38 and didn't seem to lose and physical ability at all somehow. A true athlete!
i try not to keep players over 30, goalkeeper last forever IMO late 30s. I tend to look at their physical attributes, (pace, acc) if those decrease by 2-3 pts then they are gone
A player with high ratings in natural fitness doesn't decline as fast as one with lower rating in natural fitness. So it really depends on the player. Someone like Henry who has high natural fitness can play alot longer than someone like Ronaldo the Brzailian one who has crap natural fitness.
