Once a player hits around 30 their speed starts to get zapped, soon they will be depleted and the mental stats just dont make up for it.

A goalkeeper is still useful up to the age of 38, outfield players realistically Id say 35.

i am really shallow when it comes to this area, value dominates my selection and once they hit 30 they aint worth crap, so they get binned.

Its always good to have older players in defencr/goal. I've always found that older defenders (around 30) play much better than young ones, plus they are at their best at that age. Also, I have owen in my team at 32 yrs, and he still bangs in 30 a season.

If they can still perform then age is not important to me.
They're also handy to have for mentoring younger players.
If they are clearly on the decline, but they've been a faithful servant, then they become squad/reserve players who hopefully I can encourage into becoming coaching staff when they retire.

I mostly sell them at 30 or max 31. The problem is that once a player hits that age, they start to decline rather quickly if they dont get plenty of games. And I'm one who loves to rotate his players. I hardly ever have a player who's played over 40 games in the season TOPS. I usually play my second string in the CC & FA cup. Hence is a player over 30-31 plays only around 30 games a season, the stats start dropping quickly. So I sell them! |

I don't buy players over 26 unless they're free. I need a good 3 or 4 years out of them to get my moneys worth. I demote to reserves at 30 or first signs of age
