I had the same with Hamsik at Barce, after a promishing start from a cheap signing he just kept tackling people and then giving the ball away and i conceded many, although to be fair, I did have Valdes in net.

Sometimes i don't even notice he is on the team, he is just so average!

david villa- i must of been high at the time, bought him for 54 Mill when he was 30! (on 07)
i thought to myself that no matter how well he plays he will always be a flop due to the amount of cash and his age. His average rating in the 1 season i played him was 6.61!

Alves - Heerenveen - Was to be the saviour of my Pompey forward linewhen the chairman decided to sell Utaka...albeit for £26m. Alves was utter utter PANTS. Bought for £9m he left a year later almost to the day for just over £1m to Wigan.

Sol Campbell - Pompey - He did well with me for a season and a half, then I was offered the Villarreal job. I accepted on a whim and tried to sign my skipper (Sol). It sounded great in theory. He spent his whole time looking like an old man chasing rabbits and eventually at seasons end he had to go (on a free to Bolton).

Paulo Ferrera - Chelsea - Signed on a free after season one. Played great first game then after that was terrible. Players were always turning him or going through him like he was made of air! Luckily after being dropped a Portuguese club (Beira something I think)offered to take him for a bag of spuds and a can of Coke...so off he went!

Rafael Van der Vaart! i know hes already been mentioned but he really is crap! i signed him for west ham in the first season after hearing how good he was on here and hes a complete donkey! for some reason though Man Utd just bit 17 mil so off he goes
