Go and watch a few games yourself. Say if an L2 club (especially one local to your club) has a friday night match, or midweek game that doesn't clash with your own, go and have a look. If a player catches your eye then send a scout to have another look at him.
Surely this would be within the ethics of LLM, as it's something a real-life manager could / would do?

Or not. I don't know about you guys, but here in lower leagues, nobodey goes to other teams matches. Not even firends and relatives |

Yeah, but would it be realistic to see all his stats right after the first match? Surely not. You should see at least two or three matches before diciding.

Just one other daft thing I've noticed which doesn't make much sense to me (not much does anyway).
When a scout comes back and recommends a young player (normally under 20), with the promising line etc etc, when you look through all the results, these youngsters never have stars by there name. It's normally the 37 year old pony that gets 5 stars. So why don't the youngsters get stars - is it because they are unproven?
Apologises for all the questions, but I need to get this scouting lark sorted as my Moors team are depressing me as the days go on. I'm actually tempted to sell everyone and use grey players instead. (It really is that bad!)
Thanks
Rob

Kovalenkov, you don't see any stats after viewing a game. That's why you have to scout, ergo that's why it's realistic.
