quote:
originally posted by someone who seems to really struggle with the concept of LLM:
I sign relatively good players offering them as much as possible money including different clauses, but I found out that once the player is in the club he is not argueing too much when I offer him a new contract with less money as salary (and even droping out some of the extras like appearance, wage rise etc.). And this way, repeatingly offering new contract, sometimes I manage to lower player's salary twice, triple or even more.

And this is realistic how?

Exactly, even though I understand the frustration. Having prospects sign for less than you offer for a lower ranked club (even ones that will relegate, guaranteeing the player absolute anonimity in at least the coming season) even if I offer first team games and all that is just plainly absurd. Of course it would happen sometimes that a player plays the negociation game so hard that he'll end up at another club rather than at yours, but this happens way, way too often.
Something that would absolutely need to be tweaked.

This is absolutely, totally, utterly and completely against the fundamental principles, spirit and ethics of LLM.

That's different Turbine.
He's exploiting the game by signing them with high wages, then renegotiating shortly thereafter once they're signed to much lower wages. Or that's how I'm reading it.
There's nothing wrong with realistically re-evaluating contracts.

Note the bits in bold, Turbine:

I don't think club chairman could get away with that even in the maximium wage days (even if they offered a "free suits from the local tailor" bonus).
Even without an agent, a player would turn down these contracts, so just a tiny bit enormously unrealistic.
