It's a pain in the arse, but so are many other things in life.
Winning/losing games has a bigger impact on morale anyway, so as long as playing them out of position isn't preventing your team doing well, who cares if the player averages 3.4 for the season?
Many LLaMas are forging ahead. I've noticed the problem, but not seen it too much as an issue, they're still playing well if you look at their stats. Well, realtively well.
Getting stuck at the playoffs (see mkus's thread) is more of a showstopper.
So it is a bug.....
Started a new game after the demise of my H&W update and the club I chose didn't have a right back, and every right footed CB or DMC i put back there ends up scoring a 3 or 4.
I think the game has a few surprise bugs, that escaped the testers eyes, and most seem to affect the lowest leagues. I am not doing a serious save until the darn update, just doesn't feel right starting afresh after the game crashes or bugs when your just starting to do well

I don't agree with that.. I didn't experience any of, say, the high scoring games, goal kicking leading to opponent goals and abundant scoring from corners until a season or two after my promotion to the Swedish first division.
