Default Getting down in Dorchester

It's been 10 years since the first time i played CM. Back in those days I always played crap teams. As the versions got better (and harder) i've chickened out of the challenge. About a week ago I found out about you LLaMas, and figured I'd give it a try, for old times sake.

SEASON 04/05 - Conf South
I took the helm down south at Dorchester. The Dorchester squad is like a wet dream from CM2: all we got is attacking midfielders. The only philosopy available to me seemed to be the good ol' "score one more than the others". I manage to sign a promising striker, and loan me a defence. Season start off, I'm on a draw overdrive, scoring loads but conceding torrents of stupid goals. I slowly etablish myself below the playoffs, helped by some excellent loanees from higher divisions, found by my new scout.

After 29 games I've been on a 5-game winning streak, and the league is tighter than ever. We were 4 teams at 57 pts, I was in the lead by 1 goal. After 37 games, and a defensive tweak in my formation, I'm still leading on goal difference, a bigger one now, with 3(!!) points down to 7th place. By 39 games I started to believe in the impossible, as it's suddenly 3 points down to Margate at 2nd. Only to get the life and blood of my midfield sidelined for a month, and my best AM ending his loan.

2 minutes into the next match - against Margate - I'm two down. Now I'm seriously getting emotional, shouting at the screen in this 6 pointer of a match. I seriously want to kick those moron midfielders for always blasting the ball over the goal from 40 yds. In the dying minutes i'm throwing in everything attacking, playing a stupid and rash 3-3-4, all out attack. Two more crazy long shots later, i'm level! I can hardly believe my eyes. Next match I get trashed, Margate draws. Last game at home. I'm biting my nails. More f***** injuries on key players. It's 0-0 until 85 mins, then my whining-about-everything-never-showing-up-for-training AMCR suddenly settles it. I've won the Conference South! And **** Liverpool ( ), I'm never leaving LLaMaing again.

FA CUP: 3d qual, Lost 3-5 to Blyth, after replay.
FA Tropy: 4th round, lost to non-leaguers Hendon, who totally outplayed me, i was lucky to get away with 1-2.
Conference South: W24 D13 L5 91-52 85pts
