I've only ever put one person on my ignore list, that I can remember.

They don't tend to stick around long enough to bother with it.

I reckon it's always better to see what's being said then one can reply in the strongest possible way

As a mod I guess you can't really use the ignore list, kind of gets in the way of your duties.

I find it useful in preventing me from seeing posts by certain authors that based on previous contributions have the potential to wind me up. It doesn't take much to rattle my cage unfortunately (must be linked to small man syndrome) particulary when I'm at work & being pestered all day my some of the most moronic people I've ever come across.

I never use the ignore list. I can ignore people by not reading or replying to their posts.

Unfortunately this does mean I have to read some stupid posts along the way...
