Sorry, this is really irritating me. I teach English to 7 to 10 year olds in Thailand. They know the difference between 'they're', 'their' and 'there'. These kids learn a completely different alphabet for their own language, then pick up English and are able to use it correctly.

Please learn the difference. You're not only an embarrassment to yourself, but also to the Great British education system and the Great British people.

Now that might make me a sad, not a bastard in the literal sense though. It also makes me helpful and, as you're getting educational advice for free, very charitable. When I add that to your compliment of 'good ideas' I think I come out smelling of roses.
