I know this doesn't technically belong here but I really would like some advice on this, and i dunno where else to put it really.
My club sets an automatic clause in everyones contract to get a 25% wage rise upon promotion, can anyone tell me how to remove this for future buys? Is it even possible?

This is a question for the GQ forum.

As the percentage is automatically set by the board, as far as I can see it can't be changed, whereas on previous versions it was negotiable when offering a new contract.

It's a feature I'm not a fan of, nearly got me relegated in my current save as everyone getting a 25% pay rise took me miles over budget.

I just tried to remove the clause and I got a pop-up saying "the board set this as standard for the club and therefore it cannot be removed"

It seems to be a standard for all English clubs, don't know about other countries.

I know in France there is an automatic 20% wage drop in place for clubs that get relegated (or technically a club can "force" a player to take a pay cut for certain salaries). Maybe there is one the other way round and maybe this is a rule set by the FAs or even UEFA or even FIFA.
