i am half way through my first season and still can't get any scouts to reply to my adverts. Should i use the search or just keep going, i badly need some new players.

I found that the installation of the 8.0.1 patch resolved this issue of a lack of scouts, have you installed this?

In terms of your question on whether you sould use the search, from the LLM rules:

"Signing Staff.

Since the huge improvement in the Job Centre in FM2007 the way to obtain Staff is to advertise in the Centre and choose Staff who apply (if they'll sign). The use of Staff Search is now frowned upon and must only be used as a last resort."

yes i installed the patch, maybe it's Birmingham and not the game
Guess I will keep going, maybe i will get lucky.
