I've been lurking here for quite some time now and always follow the rules of the game. Now that's settled.
There is one thing that I am a bit unsure of though. When it comes to scouting, the rules are clear. But what about if I were to attend games on my own? These games would of course be local ones, in the area. Eg. I go and watch a game and there's a bloke who really impresses me. Am I allowed to take action?

The reason why I got to thinking about this is simply beacuse I have had this happen to me while playing floorball (Swedish sport) on a high level, and it got my brain into motion. So opinions on this if you please. And for the record, haven't done this. Just asking

I don't think I would consider myself as a zealot, so I would say if you want to spend your time watching other games (which is a lot of time by the way - so I don't do this and just rely on my scouts), and you find someone you are interested in - you should then send a scout(s) to give you a second opinion, makes sense? You still rely on the scout system and by sacrificing your own time you may be able to gain something out of it (e.g. do two jobs instead of one).

How is that for a run-on sentence?

I've never really given this much thought before, but I take it you're not trying to view a match that is taking place while your own match is taking place .

This was really just a thought that popped up in my head during my last floorball game in real life. There were a few guys from a rival team watching our game and my thoughts immediately turned to FM.

After reading through Barside's previous thread though I've decided to just forget about it. Just curious on how you guys would look at it.

Watching other matches is absolutely fine as long as it doesn't clash with any of your games, which Barside says the game won't allow anyway.
Real managers do it, albeit in the local area you mention Pjotas in the lower leagues.

It's very good that you're looking to do some scouting yourself.

Pah! That's what I have scouts for.

First you do the scouts job.

Then you do the chairman's job.

Then I will be asked to bring my poots and play the last 20 minutes because useless fat old bloke is injured/suspended.

I might as well have a wee sweep up while I'm at it and does anyone want a programme and a raffle ticket.
