Opposition instructions are given out to an individual instead of to positions and this creates a problem, could it be tweaked?
You give instructions for an AMC (let's call him Player A) to be marked tightly always, whilst you do not want to set any special instructions for the DMC (Player B).
But, during the game, Player A will switch with Player B, meaning that on the opposition instructions panel, you see that it is now the DMC who is being tightly marked always, whilst the AMC is not. They keep switching throughout the game, so that going into your tactics panel to tweak the opposition instructions, is not really an option...
My suggestion is for SI to provide an extra option of setting instructions for POSITIONS. In fact, I would dare say that most people who play the game would prefer this option to the existing one, where you might have special instructions for a player who started off in the RW position but later plays in the RB position (which is another example of what sometimes happens).
There's another similar problem caused by the "Switch with" option, to do with your own players -
I like to have my wingers switch with each other throughout the match. The trouble arises when one of them gets injured or I simply wish to make a substitution. Say I have a striker on my bench, who is the player I want to bring on, and my playing striker can also play as a left winger, so I want to move my playing striker to the left wing, and bring on my bench striker to play as striker.
All good so far, but then even when I manually change the names in the "Switch with" option before pressing confirm, when I look at the match I see that the player (sub) whom I want to play as striker is switching with one of the wingers.
So this is a problem with the "Switch with" option, that has not been sorted out from FM 2007, and has now bugged me enough to make a post about it.

How often does a manager put an AMC in a DMC position and vice versa?! I have never seen this happen, although that obviously doesn't rule out the possibility of it happening.
