I know you're always likely to have a toiugh time in the latter staged of the CL.. But I could have dine with some easier League games to rotate the squad a bit!
Despite being around about 6th place for much of the season, facing teams 17th and 18th (out of 18), we can't win! My strikers are all suffering poor form and I'm tempted to resign, but I've got to keep plugging away!
In my Newcastle game I have just played Chelsea 5 times in 6 games. I had 2 for the Carling Cup Semi-Finals, an FA Cup 3rd Round game and the subsequent replay plus a league game. Good job the other league game at the time was easier (just), Man City away.
on my last season before an error put paid to my ipswich game, I was 5 points clear before facing Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal, and lost all three. Also newly promoted to serie A with Cagliari in 07, the first three games were fiorentina (champions), Juve and Milan, 2 of the games were away. I actually got at least most if not all of the points from that and found myself with a large (at least 7) point lead as late as late november before reality kicked in.
