I'm playing as HK in the First Division. I took over the team in 2011 after they had been relegated and languishing for a couple seasons. Apparently, the team was still Premier League quality despite underachieving, and i've obliterated the First Division and reached the Icelandic Cup Final (without drawing a single Premier League team in the entire tournament).

In the final, it's the two leagues' champions, as i'm playing the Premier League champions and defending Cup winners FH.

FH has won the Premier League, so they are going to the Champions League (qualifying stages).

My question is, will i still get into the UEFA Cup if i lose, since FH don't need the UEFA Cup spot from winning the Icelandic Cup?

In England, the FA Cup loser goes to the UEFA Cup if the winner is going to the Champions League, but i want to know if the same is true in Iceland? It probably is, since Iceland also has work permits like England, so i'm guessing their system is very similar.

It is in Ireland an Norn Iron so it's probably the same, your board might congratulate you on qualifying for europe

Well i lost on penalties, after FH were given a dodgy penalty for one of those plays there the two circles get really close and stick together for about 3 seconds, and then the whistle blows. You know the ones...they almost always result in a yellow card. Well, this time it happened in the penalty area. I'd be less annoyed if i actually saw that happen more than 3 times per game in real life, as it does in FM

I guess i will find out soon if i'm still going to the UEFA Cup.
I'm just worried that i'm not going to find out for 9 more months, because the season in Iceland ends on October, so we are deciding NEXT year's European places this season.

Finally the 9 months have gone by since losing the Cup.

Iceland earned a 4th European spot this year. The Champions and Cup Winners are in the Champions League, 2nd and 3rd place are in the UEFA Cup, and 4th place are in the Euro Vase/Intertoto. I (Cup finalist) have no European place.

So no, the Icelandic Cup does NOT work like the FA Cup.

And shame on all of you for not trying out new leagues!
