Default Update breakdown for all those asking:

Big updates and information about them:

--------------
FM Euphoria -
We are still waiting on the final update, they missed out some major trasnfers on the update that was released before the window closed (such as Lucas Podolski!!)

However this is the only update to use the 6.0.3 database as a start point and I believe the players stats are unedited.

--------------
FM Weegie -
Very good update, heavily edits the game, wages/players/transfers/staff/stadiums/etc all appear to have been updated. This is the single most compreshensive update we've seen.

However it DOSN'T work with FMscout and alot of people disagree with the player stats updates, which appear to be largely bias and some what over the top.

This would be the best update if the player's stats hadn't been so altered.

--------------
FMFormation -
Good comprehesive update and very good for english lower leagues (although not as much covered overall as in the Weegie updatee).

Has a problem with all teams formations oddly being set to 442 by default, which for me completely ruins the game.

--------------
FM Euphoria / (X AddicT) -
XAddict dose not have permission for this update and has just stolen part of other updates, IGNORE.

--------------
FMDU Mega Update -
Havn't looked at this one in-depth yet. But first impression are good. Some PAs and CAs have been edited slightly, but from what I can tell players stats are basically the same [unlike Weegi], FMcout also appears to work with this one, although again it wasnt based on 6.0.3.

Will update this one.

-------------

HOW IT STANDS:

FMDU Mega Update would be my current first choice, Weegie is the most comprehesive update but it dons't work with fmscout and of the player stat changes are laughable. FM Euphoria have yet to relase their final update, and it's the only one based on 6.0.3, sounds intresting but we'll have to wait and see.

I havn't had time to test ALL the updates for an extended period yet, so this is just a quick summary. I must point out that many of these updates are still being refined and re-released so i'll try to freshen the thread as they come.

Please add you opions on each update, but no flaming and try to keep the thread a little tidy.

There only 3 things i look for in any update. In order of importance they go like this

1) Based on version 6.03
2) Player's at correct clubs
3) Stats not fiddled with (except adding to younger players a tad)

And with end of summer update, getting the team colours in oreferences sorted would be nice too.

they are all close, but no-one wins a cigar yet. Please don't take this as criticism but i believe all you have to do to make a good solid update is get the players at their right clubs and adjust the team colours - you dont have to waste time fiddling their stats and stuff with this update. It would be really nice to be able to load up any db to find the players the same on all of them. If i had to pick one of the current crop, then Weegie obviously has the transfer side of things sewn up and head the pack at the moment imo. i just would not use it myself because of the Scout issue and FM Genie incompatability. I am currently using the 2006 v3 on Susie - it is 6.03, has all transfers up to date as far as i can tell and it didn't crash on 31st August. I cannot say if it was based on any particlar update but I've adjusted over 500 colours in the prefences too ( a shame you cant export them with Genie ) so i wont be changing now before 07 is released.

Like I said in another post none of them are perfect they all have minor flaws.

When you think of how much data there is to edit its quite scary so there are bound to be mistakes scattered around.

I think we have to be thankful that these people have taken the time to update there db and share them to improve our FM games as they are just FM fans like us except they could be bothered spending time and effort making an update.

So if you find a loan move from the Conference South missing is it really going to make a difference to your game....

FMDU Mega Update

+Apprently it's based on their previous winter update which in turn was based on the 6.0.3 DB.
+The transfers seem just as complete as Weegie if not more so, and I'm yet to find a flaw.
+Players barey edited, some CAs and PAs recieved minor adjustments but I don't believe any players stats were directly altered.
+Club finances updated and seem fairly accurate (although everyone can only really estimate).
+tatidum moves and histories etc updated well.

-Not quite as much updated as Weegi overall, but it's mostly insignifcant detail.

Very impressed, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET. (until we see what Euphoria eventually produce anyway).

FMFormations has solved the formation issue... we asked all visitors of FMF to submit their teams formation to the current season.. so about 100 were changed so far!

Also there will be a V7 released to cover any small issues in V7 (V7 will be the final change till FM07).

We have a complete overhaul of Norweigen and Seriban/Croat movements..
Lower Leagues are upto date..

I am hoping to get the full details on the Arsenal and Charlton Youth setup and created.

Hoping to be released on Saturday

Nice run down.

I agree what you said about weegie’s. It’s so close to being perfect but the altered attributes ruin it completely. Not fussed about using FMScout though.

FMFormation seems quite good and I’m hoping that the next release will be the best update available once the formations are sorted.
