Okay,

I tried to find some support from SI by posting in the bugs forum but got even more confused so I figured maybe here I could find some proper advice?

First, my background: love football, not too much of a tech-savvy person. Seen the game on a store, got excited, bought it and my wife deals with it (actually she was excited when we 'moved' to sunny Natal in Brazil, pretty supportive) .

I started this game in Natal with ABC and after two seasons I got them to first division, had a good reputation and was hired by Real Sociedad, then struggling at 2010 in the second division of Spain.

Back then, on patch 8.0.0, the board goal was to have the team as a competitive player in the Second Division in 2 years.

I've got them promoted my first year. I've got them to Champions League qualifying phase the next.

And now I am on verge of being sacked.

Through the normal channels, I learned this was a bug of 8.0.0.

Cool. But what about my playing time? I mean, I devised 14 training settings, 10 tactical settings, traded players, spent hundreds of hours of play during the last 2 months for that?

I heard reports from people who say not only 8.0.1 is too hard, but it's not as realistic as some folks at SI deem it to be.

I don't want to change for yet another full-of-problems patch. Maybe expect the 8.0.2 and see how people feel?

So, my question is: is there a way for me to edit this board attribute or to correct it without having to change the nature of my current game for good?

Even if it works, because I saw people posting that you'd have to choose the patch for a new game, so I got confused cause the only feedback I received is that I'd be able to install the 8.0.1 patch and keep the same game running.

Any advice, thoughts or help on this?

personally i do feel that the game is more difficult with 8.0.1 but it is worth it to fix the bugs, personally i love the challenge, becauses its kind of boring watching my arsenal side pick up 5 champions league trophies in a row, and when you consider no club has ever defended their champions league trophy its a little unrealistic

That's a good point.

I'd like to play a realistic simulation.

If 8.0.1 provides that, then fine.

The question is that I see a lot of people complaining of withstanding or new bugs in 8.0.1 and it is a matter of cost-benefit as well.

If I devoted 1-2 hours a weekday plus 4-6 hours a weekend minimum over the last months to devise a system that works in training and tactics it is pretty frustrating to have to change everything because the game was released without proper QA, even though it could mean an improved challenge now.

Finally, on another note, I am still optimistic that a zealous and customer-considerated soul at SI will look into this humble post and guide me to keep my save going forward hopefully by instructing me if there's any possible action to prevent my unfair sacking from the team I commited to.

i know its not right but i would like it if it was impossible to be sacked. i agree it is rubbish when you overachieve an so expectations increase drastically. i would like it if you couldnt be sacked.

I reckon you missed my point.

What happens is that the game has a de-facto bug.

I was hired by Sociedad and the long-term goal in my contract was to make them become a competitor in the Second Division of Spain (Liga BBVA).

I promoted them in my first year of the contract.

I would feel better if expectations would increase.

But in fact, I will be sacked because the so-called Board thinks I am not doing anything to become competitive in the Second Division, which is true since I am challenging for the title in the First Division and playing the Champions League.

Apparently, no one knows how I can correct this bug without having to install the patch 8.0.1. and change drastically my game.

Not sure about 8.0.0 but with 8.0.1 if you acheive your goal early the board will offer you a new contract with a different goal.

For example after your promotion you should have got a new contract with a new expectation probably along the lines of acheive mid table position in your first season up in the top division.

I don't think you can edit the actual goals the board set, but you can edit the chairman's stats on patience, resources etc on the in-game editor.

This would mean that they might give you more time to acheive the goals set. Of course, if you don't reach these goals then you may be in trouble.

I see your point about the goals not being updated after promotion and i've found that this was corrected in the most recent patch.
