Concentration - the ability to focus all 90 min and less mistakes in last 10 min of the game?
Is this for defence only? or all around the pitch?
composure - For players trying to shoot on target when they are under pressure?
(aka running with the ball into the opponents area while having 2 defender trying to tackle him).
Or what about when a defender have the ball and 2 opponents press him, does composure kick in here?

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #2
I ask this question becourse SI made it so you have to train "shooting" if you want your players to gain Composure.
And you have to train Strikers in "defence" to raise there level of concentration...
Get my point?

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #3
If you think about it composure is what a player needs when they have the ball. Concentration is needed when you don't have the ball.
Hence Composure is under shooting regime as it is most useful for a striker and likewise concentration is most useful for a defender, hence it being part of the defence regime.

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #4
I always try to divide attributes in an without the ball attribute and with the ball attribute.
Concentration I reckon, is a without the ball attribute. it's for a player paying attention to the game around him. This is more important when defending, don't want the striker your marking slip away. even if the defender has the best acceleration, marking and positioning, if he's not got concentration, the attacker will have a headstart. Only determination/tackling/acl/pace can help win the ball back at the increased risk of making a foul.
Composure is an with ball attribute. Especially when receiving the ball under pressure.
It's very similar to the distinction between positioning and off the ball (defensive and attacking attribute resp.)

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #5
Did alittle quick test with my ajax team.
Sneijder got 17 concentration from start ( hes MC/OMC), and hes playing as OMC in my system.
I set traning slider for "defending" on 1..since he dont need high tackling, marking etc...
After 1 season he still has 17 in concentration ?! but lost 3 points in tackle and marking(which i dont mind).
Does this meen; mental abilities are pointless to train, since they go up when players get older ?

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #6
Bump**
When you look at some of the top strikers f.eks: eto, trezeguet and luca toni they all got 16+ concentration
Wierd since its a "defensive" ability?
And John terry, Gallas, Rio Ferdinand and Kolo Toure all got 16 or more in composure ?
Yeah its fine since its a mental ability, BUT here is the problem; you have to train to keep those attributes at a reasonable level, and to to so, there traning workload in both defence and shooting need to be high!.
Big error by SI - we need to have more options so strikers dont need to train marking, tackling etc just to keep there concentration stats up ...

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #7
EDIT: and if a defender has composure, then they are calm and under control when under pressure, this is the classic instance when a defender dribbles the ball away from the attacker, or he strides out of defense with the ball.
Alan hansen at his peak was fantastic at bringing the ball out.

I know what composure is..but why but it in the "shooting" training !?
I dont need my central defenders to have high longshot and finishing stats --get my point?

Question about "concentration" and "composure" Post #10
Composure is the ability to remain cool under pressure, which is particulary useful for strikers with a clean run on goal but it certainly ain't a bad thing for defenders either.
Concentration is the ability to remain focused thoughout the game. Players with low concentration are more likely to commit costly mistakes, like sloppy back passes to the keeper.
Obviously you'd rather see your strikers lose their concentration than your defenders or keeper. What's Calamity James's concentration at btw?
