hi everyone, so you read the Subject of the thread, clicked on it and ended up here, hoping to find something interesting, funny, or whatever bit to read, having your coffee and cig...
And hopefully that's what this is gonna be, and here's how:
Just starting my third season at Ajax, being pretty dominant in Holland (tough, *erm*, lol), winning PD and League Cup twice, as well as Super Cup. Even in Europe I did okay, Quarter Finals first season, second doin' actually amazing, got me into the Final:
so when starting my third season I wanted to keep playing my good ol' 4-3-3 but also be dominant throughout Europe...
And that's where this Word Class Training had to step in, with the main question being:
Is it worth the effort?
It has taken me through one entire night (22:00-07:00), but I have set up Training Schedules for each individual player in my First Team squad (except my keepers, expect update here), if it pays I will also do all my Reserves and U19's Teams.
All I hope for now is that people will find this interesting enough to keep on coming back to help me out as well...
p.s. Here's my current profile, just to show my argumentation to call this a World Class thread:
But anyway, here's the basics of how to to this.
What does each type of training actually cover?
and please feel free to correct me, and fill in the gaps... Attribute - Training
Corn. - Set Pieces
Cros. - Attacking
Drib. - Ball Control
Fini. - Shooting
FiTo. - Ball Control
FrKi. - Set Pieces
Head. - Ball Control
L.Sh. - Shooting
L.Th. - Set Pieces
Mark. - Defending
Pass. - Attacking
Pnlt. - Shooting
Tack. - Defending
Tech. - Ball Control
Acc. - Aerobic
Agi. - Aerobic
Bal. - Strength
Jum. - Aerobic
Fit. - Strength
Pace - Aerobic
Sta. - Strength
Str. - Strength
What type of training does the player need?
It's as simple as A-B-C:
A: What attributes are below 10, or below requirement?
B: What type of training does this fall into?
C: Create the Schedule, set the sliders!
And then back to the original question: Is all this worth the effort?
I'll keep updating this regularly, and I'm gonna report back on two players, a young DC, my star midfielder/PM, as well as the general improvement.
The player's stats look like this at the moment:
Carvalho
Rafael van der Vaart
And here's their respective schedules:
If there's anyone willing to give this a try as well, please do so, I'll be happy to make the schedules for you, just upload the profile screen of your player...
Cheers, R.

So two weeks in right now, and mostly slight upward arrows so far:
Van den Vaart in all but the GK, Tactics and Ball Control sections, which were yellow stripes (no activity). I've raised Tactics and Ball Control both by 2 clicks.
Carvalho is being tutored by John heitinga now, in a "can learn from..."-construction.
Slight up in Strength, Aerobic and Tactics, and even better in Defence. Orange down in Attacking...
Raised Ball Control by one click, Attacking by two.
Overall there are 44 slighty up, 22 very much upwards, and even 2 pointing right at the sky...
On the other hand, there are also 18 orange ones sloping down. But hey, out of the 6 players where these arrows are to be found, 4 were/are injured .
So I'm really happy that I tried this so far, and looking at their actual attributes I was even more excited:
Here's picture of Marc Crosas, the best improver so far:
Cheers, R.
p.s. The offer of uploading your own profiles to have me make him a schedule is still going...

Ya know, you could jack up the workload a couple notches further. It helps a little, and injuries aren't significantly increased. I always put it 2 notches below 'heavy'; it's worked well for me.

I think that workload is pretty fine. Though it is a hassle to me to make individual training schedules, unless I have a gem in my youth ranks, etc. I usually just train the necessary attributes needed for the specific positions.

@Asmo: Indeed, but to make my entire squad up for Europe instead of just Holland, I figured all of them need to be better, overall.
So I have Van den Vaart, my AMC/PM on Defending, just so he can Mark and Tackle as well.
@GrimaH: I have some on higher and some on lower workload, I will go through them individually as well, but I am indeed increasing most of them by now.
@ubos: All you need to do is give me some profile's, I'll be more than happy to set their schedules...

I'm thinking this could end up very impressive so just to be able to blow everyone away later on, here's all the stats for all the individiually trained players as they are now:
The training for FM07 is the same for FM06, but do you find that first team football is more influential/effective than training?
I never sent players on loan in FM06 as I always wanted them on my training schedules for better improvement, but I've seen players in FM07 who have had very good improvement by getting plenty of games. Do you feel it's more effective for players to be playing games to increase improvement on a less instensive schedule, or will they improve more from the right schedule alone?
Also, don't players mind being on their own schedules?

Fir the 1st time we are seeing some sort of realism in training and player development. Loaning quality youth players in rl is common place. So yes they will improve as long as they go to a team that can provide them with a challenge. But so will taking over your reserves and playing that. But who wants to do that. So loaning your young potentials is always a good idea, but be sure of how they play him.
Get your scouts to get game reports, if he is not playing or improving recall him. Training: this is a good one in 07. Due to the randomness of the AI in certain situations makes tactics ridiculously important now. Due to this fact i have devised that training yuor players individually doesnt really have that much of a great effect. I have Keep/Def/Mid and For training modules. Obviously these took some time to work out but its really is pretty simple.
Training and the tactics you use go hand in hand.(just like in rl)ie: if you play a direct quick game, speed is paramount along with decisions and passing skill across the board. Or vice versa if you play a slow game concetration and passing is good. I have tinkered with training in 06 a lot. And as someone else said they are very similar. The only thing I know for sure from my experience. Is taht the tactics dictate every other thing you do as a manager. Getting the rite players for your tactics then train them accordingly.
