im managing spanish side valencia, and my home record is
11 1 1
gd 31 8
BUT!
my away record is
3 5 5
gd 13 21

i cant understand why the difference between home and away games are so huge! im playing 4-4-2 and i cant see any reason for losing against poor teams in away games im the favorite...
what am i doing wrong? any general tips for away matches?

Probably playing too attacking and getting caught on the break. Play more defensive, and try not to get caught out.

Can u tell me what your formation is and an indication of your team and individual instructions. Then I might be able to help you.

I always play very attacking formations home and away and I dont have problems.

4-4-2.
defenders are on ultra defensive, full back are mixed with forward runs.
the 2 wingers are joaquin and vicente who are offensive. midfield consists of 1 defensive minded player (albelda for most of the time), one is attack minded (bodmer or hugo viana). strikers are villa and morientes.
i play slow game with short passes, through the wings, wide, and push up defence line.
on away games the defence line in normal, and the full back less attacking.

I had this problem with my Everton game, Champions League form at home but only 1 win away from home all season (despite leading in both games). Should I change my tactics home and away? If yes, are we talking a formation change or just some tweaks?

Try playing more direct away from home.. and counter attack your oppo..
