In FM, of course

I figured since I've spent that much time on the bloody thing I may as well tell someone about it.

Currently in my 5th season, with Hull in League One.

I started out with Moor Green in the Conference North. Had them 12th, 13th and then relegated 'twas a sad day. The low point of my career so far.

Moved onto Halifax in the conference (relegated, moved up a division). Finished with a strong mid-table position pushing for a playoff spot late in the season. However, a great offer came from Hull right before the end of the season and I couldn't pass up.

They have a budget of 110,000 p/w for wages and a transfer budget of 6M for me to roll around in. However I got there legiiamitely so its ok with me. In the last 10 games of the season I managed to win 0 of them to lose our playoff spot. Not a good start.

During the offseason I moulded the team into something resembling a team I want and with 2 games left in the season I am currently in the last playoff spot. Teams like Palace and West Brom have drifted down into League One though so it will be hard to get promoted.

I have signed a 16 year old from another team who seems to be the next Pie Eater. He is worth 2.8M already and scores goals for fun. Newcastle are chasing him at the moment.

I felt a loyalty for Moor Green, my first club, but after they were relegated I didn't real feel much for Halifax after the board room turned on me after a great season and expected me to do even better with less resources. Greedy gits.

End up season update.

I missed out on the playoffs. However during the offseason I managed to strengthen the team signing some more cover. The next season ended up a very close one, however I was amoungst the playoffs all year and near the end I came up with a good run of form to snatch 1st place on the last day, automatic promotion for me and my first piece of silverware.

Now I'm in the English Championship and I think my team isn't too bad. The bookies agree, giving me an outside chance of being promoted at 40-1. However my loyal assisstant (who I have taken with me from Moor Green to Halifax and now Hull) believes with are stone-cold certainties for relegation. And the board expect me to steer clear of relegation.

The pie-eater I referred to earlier seems to have gotten too big for his boots and has requested a transfer. He was attracting the interest of, at different times, Newcastle, Man Utd, Leverkusen and a few other big clubs. I agreed to list him but I set his price at 10M and no-one has touched it yet. I am hoping he comes to his senses and signs a new contract other wise I may have to sell him so I don't lose him on a Bosman.

I am a few games into the new season in the EC and my defense is looking pretty shaky. I plan on trying out a new tactic which concentrates a bit more on the back of the pitch.
