gathering some men around was a big trouble since playing players out of position causes them to play crap. i signed nearly anyone that are willing and that made 6 strikers, 6 central defenders, 4 attacking midfielders, a goalie (a fat one for xure) and a few staff. after some more heavy scouting and more desperate offers, i managed to sign a left flanker and another attacking midfielder that *may* play on the right.
by the way, i learnt sekerspor didn't relegate from the 2nd division category a last year but promoted from the 3rd division. in TR, most of the teams promoting from 3rd div, relegate back in one season
the average age of my squad is probably over 33 but some of my signings (a centre back, 2 strikers and the midfielder that *may* play on the right flank) were ex internationals over 35 or some potential stars that never made the impact and drifted away.
whatever is, after some friendlies i saw that the midfielder that *may* play on the right which was the hottest prospect of turkish football more than 10 years ago who spent his life injured or in 3rd div clubs does crap on the right flank. but on the bright side, he was the no.10 that everybody is looking for
so i made some more heavy scouting and desperate offers and signed another midfielder who *may* play on the right flank and the league started.
i had to play with 3 strikers because i had nothing but strikers in my squad. 2 of them were ex internationals aged 36 and 37, and one in the middle was a 22 year old bloke who somehow (perhaps accidentaly) signed for me.
first 6-7 games were really disappointing and i was close to the relegation line. then one of my many superstitions worked. i didn't have a goalie for the bench and all the ones i knew were crap. so i signed someone just to warm up the bench. his only point was being the youngest goalie in my shortlist. and then i realised i had more superstitions. i changed the place of the old strikers. right footed was on the right side and left footed was on the left. i reversed it and the next game the right footed one scored a hattrick. that was the turn of events.
after that, my team started a run and after some more games, the central striker began to score. but i was leaking too many goals in. after one game, i got frustrated and put my bench-warmer goalie in the starting eleven. he was a superhero that game and a few weeks after, he was called to the turkish u-21's. that's a miracle to have somebody called to some team on international weeks in 2nd div cat. b.
now it is the break, half of the season is finished, and sekerspor is now playing for promotion. i have to be the winner of the league to promote, and i am really close to the top. after a run of wins, i had 3 draws in a row just before the break but no problem, i am still close to the top
me thinks, if the lack of squad depth doesnt affect the team (i have the worst disciplined team, god knows why

) and the goalie and the strikers keep their form, and "the fat and always-tired but hot no.10 that *may* play on the right but cannot which was the hottest prospect of turkish football more than 10 years ago who spent his life injured or in 3rd div clubs" doesnt get too tired, and the other midfielder who *may* play on the right keep on doing just ok, i may even promote.
who could have thinked this before? that's a miracle and it is 05:15 in the morning. i have to get some sleep before school tomorrow. will keep on posting
and sorry for my english, as it is not my primary language.
