On the whole wage budgets seem more reasonable; however, I find that I am struggling at Bolton, partly due to the stupidity of the AI.
Having only been out of the
Prem for three seasons, there are still a number of Premiership quality players, with wages to match. The squad is paper-thin (except for strikers) and we are still £30k-odd over the weekly wage budget of £60k.
I can understand having wages restricted for new signings (but I can't attract any midfielders of sufficient quality for £950 p/w). What I don't understand is that there is scope for saving money by renegotiating contracts, but the board will only let me offer £950 p/w to anyone, so I can't get the guys on £11k+ p/w to renegotiate to, say, £8k. Additionally, valuable players will be leaving on a Bosman because (quite rightly) they will not re-sign for a fraction of their current wage

, whereas if we could get them to re-sign, they could be flogged to try and stop the slide deeper and deeper into the red.
