High profile jobs suck worse than Cups. Enough said.

yeah dont jump. i jumped from welling after getting them promoted to conference and going really well, chesterfield came in for me, so i took it. got relegated, finishing midtable in league 2, gonna get sacked so i moved to luton.

dont do it...

My highly successful cremonese team got substituted for lazio...and i went from being a top manager to being sacked...had to go right down to empoli, by then in c2/something to get going again...and then i actually had more fun than in all my half year with lazio...

Once took the mighty Barnet to the EPL... Promotion after promotion... Each season my team somehow managed to get promoted... Got to the top, took the Tottenham job first season up... and low and behold, Barnet finished above me.... Stay where you are mate and see it too the end!

I think that if you follow the rules to the letter you stay put until you have won everything or you get sacked. If you win everything, move on.

The higher you go up the league, the harder it becomes as you cannot sign players and your wage budget is pants. Give it a try and see how you go.

There's no rules as far as jumping ship is concerned. Do it when you want. Just keep in mind how realistic it is for a C2/C manager to be offered a job in the Serie B

I'm just in pre-season of 2005 with Bradford Park Avenue. I gave the board and fans exactly what they asked for in season one - mid-table obscurity and rebuilding the team. The finances are a disaster and whilst my eight loanees kept us hanging in there was nothing in the squad to suggest we'd go anywhere.

However I kept the faith with the club if not the players. At the end of the season I put every single one up for sale and a surprising number got £1K offers to give me a whopping £6K to splurge. My scouts brought me dozens of mimimum-waged teenagers on trial and in the 2nd pre-season stage I really believe there is some raw quality. New season, new hope.

And the best thing of all - no issue with play-off bug; by the time I get there the patch will be safely bedded in!

Stay at one club for as long as you can. I think thats the best way. Otherwise you regret not finishing the job you started. That's the way I look at it.
