Playing as a ***** Romanian manager I decided I needed a new scout as mines completely useless.

First up I placed an ad in the job centre. Is this ok under the rules? I presume so but I', not certain.

Secondly both the guys are foreign and I'm not sure about the rules for hiring foreign staff. One of thems Nigerian and toss so I'm ignoring him. The others Slovenian (which isn't too far away)and pretty good so I am tempted. Would it be ok or would it be completely unlikely for a tiny Romainian team to have foreign staff?

Im unsure of the rules on staff too.

See I was under the opinion that the Job Centre would be the best place to go for realism, but then I got a load of africans and turks applying to be a coach at Bradford Park Avenue.

In theory, using the job centre is perfectly fine.

It's similar to 03/04 having your scouts show up players from obscure African or Caribbean nations when you were scouting England. Your scouts theoretically found them, so they were fair game.

As a rule of thumb, though, you wouldn't normally hire a staff member who doesn't speak the native language of your country.

As unlikely as foreigners might be, they applied for the job you advertised, so they're pretty much fair game as far as I'm concerned.

Ian would have the final say, though.

they could already be living in the country you are playing, for example if they are ex players that spent their career there.

If they have applied for the job, I don't see why they can not be on the consideration list.

I like to opt for staff that can speak English though.

What I've been noticing is some of these odd applicants have dual nationality and do also speak several languages.

We were discussing this for the clan yesterday...with playing in Scotland with England running as well, we decided on British and Irish staff...we'll see how that works out though with 10 managers vying for them.

With scouts, I'm not as bothered about whether they can speak the language as I am with other staff.
Provided they know what football looks like, they're generally adequate candidates.

Coaches, Ass Mans and Physios are a different matter, though.

Thanks for the answers.

If I had any money I'd now have a new scout but I cant afford the compensation. Guess I'm waiting for his contract to end then.

Fair enough about the scouts.

Are there any restrictions on coaching staff? My players are seriously lacking in fitness and the wheels have well and truly fallen off my ECS champions race. I need some help in beating them in to shape.
