I have started in Conference South in a bid to launch my managerial career and maybe in the future be offered a job at a big club

Conference South 2004/05 = Season 1

Took over as manager of Cambridge City. The board expected a safe mid table position in the league and that would do me fine in my first season here at the City Ground. To acheive this they gave me a transfer budget of sweet FA. The media were not so sure they predicted a relegation battle - cheers fellas

This season was to get to know the place, my players and build a squad that could push for promotion next season.
First I sorted the backroom staff, an assistant 2 coaches and a scout were brought in and we were ready to go.

Its November and the club has seen 11 players come in at a cost of £7,000 and also a league striker in on loan. 9 players had departed bringing in £28,000 so some good dealing in the transfer market. Although I was a little over the wage budget.

Things had gone well so far I was sitting top of the table with a record of P10 W8 D1 L1 F22 A7 PTS 25. In the FA Cup draws against Ryman League Clubs tempted me to play reserve players - wins over Dover and Maldon were followed by a loss to Cinderford in 4th round qualifying - maybe I should have played my strongest team. Oh well there is always the FA Trophy.

Remember, two updates a season, tops. Ten matches is a far cry from mid season, let alone the end...

Didnt mean you 2 I mean the rule inforcers that seem to jump on you whatever. Nothing in my post suggested I was going to do more than 2 updates but instead of just having a read and enjoying my game with me Guiness had to remind me of the rules!!

Hey, FC. What you've got to keep in mind is that some of these guys have been about for years and have had to endure mountains of crap from, let's face it, the majority of new users.

New users who blunder in without reading the Forum Header, Rules or Guidelines and end up posting piles o' ****e.

Doug wasn't being unfriendly, he was merely enquiring as to whether you were aware of the update policy, in his up-front Canadian way.

Don't take it personally.

...and welcome to LLM.

Ah, note my location, and you'll see it was barely past midnight in my neck o' the woods. That and I'd been drinking, so my patience level was lower than normal, which isn't that high to begin with. I'm not your typical, non-confrontational Canadian...Eh?

Like everyone said, don't take me personally, and be happy I'm reminding you of the rules, not having you roasted because you failed to follow them.

As Ian says, welcome to LLM.

Anyway, ive now finished my first season in charge of Cambridge City and it was probably the most successful season i'd ever had in LLM.

Conference South 2004/05 - Season 1

Over the course of the season I signed 16 players costing a total of £10,000. Out went 11 players with a total income of £28,000 which im sure would keep Mr Chairman happy.
I also brought in the required people to have a good backroom team in came an assistant, 2 coaches and a scout.

I Started with a transfer budget of 0 and was expected to finish in a safe mid table position.

We started off well and we didnt really ever have a real bad patch all season with Hornchurch the only side getting anywhere near us.
I won the Conference South by 13 points with a record of P 42 W 28 D 10 L 4 F 94 A 34 PTS 94
I went out of the FA Cup in the 4th Qualifying round to Cinderford but in the FA Trophy it was a different story. Kind draws all the way through saw us reach the final and a day out at the Millennium Stadium. We beat Boreham Wood 2-1 with 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to lift the Trophy and finish an outstanding season with the League and Trophy double.

I had a job offer from Wycombe just weeks before the end of the season but I didnt even consider it because I had a FA Trophy final to look forward to.

We are now looking forward to the next challenge of staying in the National Conference along with Hornchurch who were promoted via the play-offs.

Conference National here we come!!
