God, I get sick of the "nicey-nicey" "Oh, don't shout at us" attitudes of the guys who don't understand the LLM Way.
Look, it's nothing personal, new blokes. Think of it this way...
If you live in a house on the road where a lot of drunken revellers pass by on the way home, even if you take a snifter yourself, you may be a little pertrurbed the first time someone taps your window for a laugh.
Six months, and a thousand taps, later you'd blow your feckin' top at every guy who tapped your window, even a little tap like the first one.
It's a wearing-down thing. It may not be the same guy who does the thousandth tap as did the first one, but it's at the stage you'd kick every arse that did it.
Same here. It's the posts that pÃ*ss the regulars, not the people doing it.
Now, rest assured any abuse will be met with the same response, beit new guy or regular, but you have to understand their irritation is justified in some part.

As Ian said, it's nothing personal.
However, I fail to see where my post was abusive or offensive. I was only pointing at the fact that I think that we've gone over that one time too many...
You know that dejÃ* vu feeling? No? Stay here for a while and beleive me , you will also get it...

@UELLFAN & @Iajafer
Don't get me wrong, I didn't see any of the posts here as abusive or offensive (apart from the one that suggested I'm a newbie as well! ;-)).
My point is though is that these questions, queries and opinions are gonna come up again and again because the newbies are starting where we started off a while ago. If such posts get on your nerves, then ignore them. The only thing you are gonna do by using sarcasm is turn people off from playing CM/FM the way it should be played and that can't be a good thing if this particular forum is to flourish. Whether someone is always active or just comes from time to time (like me - I work long hours and can't often be here), it should feel like you're coming into a open club of people who share your ideas, not a small club of individuals who want to stay small.
Granted, the same questions will always be asked but that's the nature of all forums, isn't it?

I never said that you were abusive or offensive, it was just the way the post came across.
Had you posted something along the lines of:
"Please refrain from posting topics like this as we are getting sick of them" would have come across better.
I can appreciate where the regulars are coming from and I didn't mean to cause offense.
As I said as well, I fully intend abiding by the rules (I like a challenge) but some of my points do hang true. A friend of mine manages a junior football team and he seems to know about most players from other junior teams in the area and the surrounding areas (in the game it can take a loooong while to develop this knowledge).
I am also aware that you can watch matches in the game, but lets face it watching someone elses dots move across the screen is not as exciting as watching a real football match |

Englandspor - if we ignored these questions, then this forum would spiral into a mess: there has to be some order here.
Secondly, there is a thread which newbies should read before posting. It's pretty self explanitory, and should people read them and take them onboard, we wouldn't have this problem.
Now if a newbie was to ask a question outside the guidelines - then we are more than happy to give our views on the subject.

I bet he's managed that team for longer than 5 minutes to have that kind of knowledge.

I don't really want to go back over what I've said time and again, but in response to various points raised:
We've often been referred to as a clique, and that we have "exclusionary policies" with regard to new users. I'm happy with that, happy to be a clique, to have a small group who play LLM as it should be (as defined by literally hundreds of users in the 5 years I've been here).
We have no time for guys who cheat, brag, discuss tactics or wish to discuss players, not in here anyway.
I keep saying..."it's your game, play it as you will" and we won't bother you...unless you come in here and tell us to change (this isn't directed at either of you blokes, btw, it's a generalisation).
Stuart, I know Managers have knowledge of other Teams and players in their League and Area, they wouldn't be doing their job if they didn't, but there's no facility in LLM to gain that knowledge other than to watch Media reports, send out your scouts or experience the talents of guys playing against you then scouting them.
It takes time, but it's like that in real life too.
There are ways of using the facilities to make your job easier, and there are ways of using them to make the game easier, and that's where I'm confident enough, some may say arrogant enough, to believe that we LLaMas have got the balance right.
I'll repeat. None of this is directed at you guys, it's a general comment and view.

Before I answer your question, i want to say that I'm not questioning the Llama philosphy or any of the rules. My personal wish would be to make this 'clique' bigger so that MORE people realise that there are other ways of playing CM/FM than with an editor and a list of 'good' players in tow.

I'm not saying the questions should be ignored, rather I'm sure there are other Llamas out there who are happy to help newbies without resorting to sarcasm. If newbies are guided into the scene instead of being bullied into it, I'm sure there'd be a lot more managers here. That's not an attack on anyone here as I know that in the long term people will get bored of seeing the same thread but experience shows that these threads aren't disappearing, they are still there and some managers are perhaps being driven away by the rudeness they receive here.

That's a fair comment of course but tell me a forum where people don't post without having read the rules. It doesn't happen. There are always some that don't read the rules before they post and it's my opinion they should be nudged towards reading the rules(as also happens here sometimes) instead of just being attacked...

Yep.

I would hardly say they are being attackedm Englandspor. You should have been here 2-3 years ago if you think what happens now is bad.
Because many people overlook the rules does not make it right to do so and we should accept it, does it?
I refer you to Ian's wonderful window analogy for my opinions on this.
