Just started my game at Redditch and decided to approach *a current player* on a player/coach basis (though he's a useless coach). Anyway I was suprised to see him accept. I won't discuss how he's performed as it might be seen as encouraging or discouraging the signing, tipping as it were. Anyway, my question was had anyone else signed him at this or any other level?
I once signed a player coach in 03-04. It was so long ago I don't even remember what his name was, let alone how he played, so I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to :p
How come I never saw player/coach option since CM4 in my saves? Never. Not even once did a player, had that option. Not even if he spent 10 yeras with me. I once sold a bugger, who was 34 yo and I couldn't sign him for player/coach to a rival club. He immediately signed for them as playser/coach. Feckin *******
Kov, I think that your players obviously know what you are like and are thankful to leave. They just do not want to say as staff for you.
I rarely get players taking their coaching badges but it has happened and I got some resonable player/coaches from it. Generally I pick up player/staff members from the job centre where a few of the applicants have both playing and staff stats.

And does the player/Asst. Manager report to you that he is doing very well in training?
