Conquering the wold with Centauros Villavicencio FC
I just started my first FM2005 LLM-career game, after playing around (LLM and non-LLM) for some time with different teams in different countries.
Took over the job at one-third of the season at Centauros Villavicencio FC in the Colombian Second Division (lowest available) after starting unemployed. At that moment they were 12th in the league (18 teams present).
I was expected to acquire new players and start rebuild the team. No expectations set for promotion etc.
They had a decent selection. Rather small but a few decent or even good players. But the average age was a bit high, 2 of 3 strikers were aged 31 en 34, for example, and the third one had some really ugly stats. A DC aged 39 (!), and more of that kind... also only one player capable as DL and also only one capable as ML. So i had to buy some defenders, midfielders, and a extra striker. And a goalkeeper, as I had three, but two of them were blind I guess, or at least they acted as if they were. Or they were just dumb, i really don't know. But I released them as quick as I could find the button to do that, so it didn't matter.
Had a few good games, but some long term injuries kept me from the playoffs by 3 points. I ended 9th in the league. Board and supporters were very pleased with this result.
Next season the board expected promotion to the First Division. To achieve this, the board granted me as very hugh transferfund of 40.000 euro!
Got some decnet replacements for some of my aging players (especially midfielders) on a free transfer, including a very good AM/LC who eventually would become a star player at my team.
Won 22 games, drawn 7 and lost only 5 games. Ended first in the competition, so I entered the playoffs. Won my group, and both games with the winner of the second group, so I got promoted.
2 of my starplayers and high scoring players are long time injured (respectivily 3 and 4 months), and I've too little transferfund (only 75.000 euro this time) to get any decent new players.
Currently I'm in the First Division and it's not going well... played 6 games so far, only 1 draw, lost 5. But board and supporters are still delighted, so I hope it will improve soon.
I'll just have to tweak my tactics and training, I guess. Till now I used a rather straight-forward formation, which worked very well with this team in the Second Division, but doesn't work in the First.

Well, that was an very short adventure in the First Division, I'm already relegated back to the Second Division...
The first phase of the season was a real drama, with only 1 win, 1 draw, and 15 losses.
The second phase was slightly better, with 5 wins, 6 draws and 7 losses.
I've tried three different tactics, none of them really worked well. Had a few long-term injuries, some players that want to leave to club 'to further their career' (they're well in their thirties, but ok...), my strikers seem to have forgotten what their task is etc etc...
No decent players want to join my club, even when they're out of contract or playing for a non-league club. It's really frustating!
The supporters want to chop my head off with an axe, but the board is satisfied, so I guess I can hold the job.
Well, I hope we can gain promotion again straight-away. I got a few youth players promoted to the U-21's, some of them look pretty promising with their stats.
Played 34, Won 6, draw 7, lost 21, goals for: 12, goals against: 46, points: 25. Two points short to safety, so it was close call.

Yes... the club above me (17th) had 27 points, but I had a better goal-ratio (12/46 vs 12/49 for the 17th club).
