My first crack at LLM. Randomly picked out Ashton Utd. I have a few questions. I understand that some of the LLMAs run huge database plus leagues from Scotland, Wales and Ireland together with their English league.
Is there a difference if I were to load the players from the country instead of having the leagues?
Or would just running the English league with a huge database be sufficient?
My understanding is that it is not OK to just load the players using *.edt and or *.ddt files as this can lead to an imbalance in later years with an over abundance of foreign players.
It would be preferable to run as many leagues as you can on as big a databse as you can. The English league from Conf North / South to Prem league on Huge would be fine.
True, but I don't think he's talking about using those files, he's talking about using the "load all players from nation 'x'" function. I haven't seen anything that says this is inappropriate. Of course, most of us would say load with a 'huge' database instead, then you get them all anyway, and it's more realistic. That said, the only thing I can think of that you'd be unbalancing by doing this is the World Cup, and that's not a primary concern of LLaMas. So I'd probably say; "Let your conscience be your guide."
There's an option to Load all Players...? I must have been blind: i've no recollection of seeing that. Mind you, I am still on my first save since buying the game, so I suppose it's not that surprising.
First thoughts ... I wouldn't be happy using that option, to be honest. I fail to see how it is different from using the edt and ddt files (as Physim mentioned). Also, before you know it, there'll be a load of pseudo-llamas posting about how they were playing in nation "x" and loaded all players from nation "y" for a "challenge"...
Mason, like its been mentioned, you could use a ddt file. Im currently running with a small database, and ddt file which keeps all of my chosen nations players. It runs like a dream
Using the option to retain players from different players does unbalance the game. Too many people from those retained countries appear in your chosen league.

Oh? I didn't realise this.
I was under the impression that loading these players from country x would lower the processing time say if you were running the English (all leagues), Irish (all), Scottish (all) leagues roughly (12 or 13 leagues in total) on a huge database but also wanted a crack at the transfer market in the EU. (I'd load the EU countries only).
I didn't realise the huge database would encompass all the players in the world.
If the above is accurate then I'll be running my English league (from conference n/s)on huge database only.
