I'm pretty sure scouting in real llife is not the same as the scouting we have in Fm08.
At the end of the season for example the manager and all the scouting team will have meetings and discuss what aspects of the team need to be strenghthened. They they set out for these players and finally the manager gets a list of players from which he , and maybe the board or the president pick out their transfer targets.
Then, during the rest of the season, when the transfer windows are closes, the scouts are affected an area, just like in FM. But i've always wondered why i couldn't ask my scouts: go get me a striker.
The filtering option is not as affective in my opinion.
We should be able to send out our scouts, just like the way we put up job offers when we're looking for certain staff. And then our scouts would come back with a certain number of players, depending what we'd have asked for.
Cool idea isn't it?
There needs to be a seperation for youth knowledge as well.
The bars deplete so quickly it's crazy, while as we all know many clubs with foreign based scouts or related clubs often follow players from a very young age.
Maybe prospects could be introduced? So a scout or feeder club could alert you to a youth player who then progresses into your youth team with the next batch of regens. So if you scout an area it will pop up mid-search or when he's finished.
That would make more sense then the current structure where you search a country/region and then seemingly get random players from places where you have a full bar on regen day.
