I mean, even if they took Welsh nationality, few would then choose to play for the Welsh team.

If I understand the OP correctly he's complaining that players at Swansea are not gaining welsh nationality.

Question in advance: Are you playing with the patch as patchlog claims to have fixed a likewise problem with Toronto who despite being Canadian play in the American league?

Just checked my (patched) game:
Every player from a country outside of the Home countries & ROI do have the possibility of gaining the Welsh nationality.
Regens at Swansea do have the Welsh nationality.
