Can anyone please do a step by step guide for installing a skin?

I know I'm lame etc but I just can't seem to get the skin to show up in the game and all I can find on this site is:
Extract it to FM2006/Data/Skins
then run the game
turn off the Skin chache
close down the game
run the game again and it should be there (but it's not)

Either point me in the right direction or can someone do a proper step by step for us beginers and people with limited time on our hands, but enjoy a good game every now and then. and then hopefully those lovely mod people will sticky it!!

That sounds right mate...
THe only thing i'd suggest you check is that in that Skins directory the only folder you have is the specific skins root folder. Sometimes zip files are configured to unzip in a complete Data/Skins format, so you would have FM2006/Date/Skins/Skins/*Skin Name*

Thanks a lot it works now I don't know what it was I doing wrong but it works now!

Mods is there any chance of putting up a proper guide or even better putting it in the Game Manual so that more people can have a go at it.

when you loaded the game up, did you select the skin from the drop down menu?
