I know the problems were supposed to be addressed with the 701 patch, but have they. On the 702 patch now, and still experienceing problems.
Playing with a 4-4-2, all man marking at the back. As soon as the opposition switches to something like 4-1-2-2-1 I'm in trouble and have to manually sort the marking.
I'm guessing that when you choose specific marking on the tactics screen, the player at the top of the list (separated from the rest) is the player that is being marked. I've noticed that the only player being marked correctly after a tactics swap by the opposition, is one of the FCs. The rest are all over the place, with my other DC usually marking the opposite DC!!!!!
I only noticed this after I was losing stupid goals and checked to see if the opposition was changing formation. Losing goals nearly every time they change if I haven't been quick enough to spot it. Now I have to watch games on the formation screen in between the extended highlights.
Bloody annoying having to constantly switch the marking when the opposition is changing formation up to 8 times in a match.
Same experience with you. When I want to change the DC setting to man-marking FC in a match, the top of the list is always DC. So I am so confued about the man-marking system. Whether it works or not?
It is not a bug. If the opp have 2 FCs, just set the back four like this:
FBL Man
FBR Man
CDR Man
CDL man
If they have 1 FC:
FBL Man
FBR Man
CDL Zonal
CDR Zonal Or
FBL Man
FBR Man
CDR Specify Man
CDL Zonal
you just have to watch the opp's formation and change accordingly. It should work perfectly. I learned that from watching my Ass man on freindlies. You can do that aswell and see how the AI does it.
It doesn't make any sense that one of my DC automatically man marks an opposition DC if they drop to one striker. That is useless.
I should be able to play a man marking system at the back, and not have to worry about manually changing the markers unless they have more attackers in my half than I have defenders, regardless of the formation.
This is exactly what was pointed out as buggy with man marking in previous versions, and it still seems to be happening.
Well, you have to pay attention to the opp's formation and make changes during a match. I understand that the palyers should have a common sense and not act like robots but it's oly a game.
